There's a story on ABC right now about modern gold diggers (i.e prospectors ;) ). They covered one plot outside Phoenix and talked to one gentleman carrying ~$1000 in gold in 3 vials. They asked him why he didn't put it in a bank or somewhere safer. His response: "I've got a pistol," as he rests his right hand on a S&W 4" double action in an Uncle Mike's holster. :D:D

The announcer didn't blink. :)

the first time I read your post I saw "Gold Diggers" and thought about women who marry old rich men. And your post made no sense what so ever. No I read it again and I realized that you meant prospector and it makes much more sense.

Anyway, obviously Arizona is a more friendly state than Oregon.

Who's fault is that??? I was born in Portland, Oregon in 1942. I grew up in Tigard. I carried my .22 revolver pretty much where I wanted to including to the hardware store to get more ammunition. I finished my growin' years in Coos Bay where we did much the same. I joined the US Navy when I was 21 and returned 22 years later and guess what...Another anti gun state had emerged...

Missouri is a "shall issue" CCW and open carry state. As are a lot of other states...
