The only hint is that a Fireball case was not used on the right one.

.243 and .223 but the last is iffy...

"300 Tactical" is what I was told this combo is called... My understanding was the Whisper is formed from a .221 Fireball brass and the Tactical is formed with .223 brass in much the same manner. Works like a charm in a rebarreled AR. There is apparently a little extra case capacity with the .223 so the bullets can be driven a little faster, supersonic, if desired.

(maybe someone just wanted to use the "t" word)
:D cheers

Factory .300 Whisper ammo from Cor-Bon uses resized & trimmed 5.56 brass, much to the consternation of JD Jones, who insists that if it don't use .221 Fireball brass, then it ain't .300 Whisper...

That was easy...

Unfortunately I was several hours too late with the answers...

Tamara, what does JD Jones call that cartridge?

I had no idea Cor-Bon even loads it.

Good stuff,

cheers.

I always wondered why JD Jones stuck with the .221 Fireball brass for his .300 Whisper, when the .223 Remington brass is cheaper and more plentiful. I know the .221 is shorter, but case trimming really isn't that hard to do. Heck, I've got my DeWalt cordless attached to a Sinclair case trimmer, and crank out 7.62x45 Czech brass at a goodly rate...
