I want to put a better set of sights on my Star Model
B. A 1911 type is too small for the rear dovetail.
Anybody know what kind of pistol has sights that will
fit?
Thanks,

I have a Star Super B that was in need of an adjustable rear sight, but I could not measure 60 from 65 degrees or .3 from .35" to measure the dovetail.
I took a chance that it was the standard 1911 dovetail.
replaced rear sight with Brownell's 625-100-311:
" Mfr: PSI Compact, Adjustable - Low Mount Rears MGS REAR SIGHTS - Extra low profile, adjustable sight mounts down, out of the way and increases sight radius for enhanced sight picture. Rectangular body, raised adjustment screws. Requires no alteration to the slide, fits in the standard dovetail and uses the existing front sight. SPECS: CNC machined steel, matte blued finish. 625-100-311 3-Dot Rear, fits 1911 Auto .45 Govt $58.40 retail $35.00 wholesale cost. package says "LPA made in Itally imported by WWW.precisionsights.com" "
1) I also got a FAC replacement 9mm barrel for $37.50 and reamed it out to 9x23mm.
2) I reamed out the spring cowling on the slide to take a bigger recoil spring and used two springs from the Wolff Gunsmith Pak #14.
3) I shortened the magazine lips to feed and release 9x23mm.
4) I have shot loads in excess of 357 mag max loading with 158 gr. bullets and shorter OAL, and the gun is still ok.
Here is a synopsis of the .380, 9x19mm Luger, 9mm Largo, 38 Super, and 9x23mm Win.
The magazine of the Star Super B is long engough for a 9mm Largo, but is chambered for the 9x19mm. It is a shame ot waste all that magazine length, and I shoot the 9x23mm in mine.

Here are some Star Super B barrels.
One is stock.
One is Federal Arms Corp [Korean on sale for $37.50]
One is FAC that has been TIG welded [waste of time, case support is good enough]

Found a set of MGW with wide tenon at Brownells that fit the Star B perfectly.
