I am trying to find a loud for a 44 Russian using a 200 gr bullet & IMR's HiSkor's 700-X powder. I have been through all my reloading books & searched the internet for the information. The only load for the Russian listed at the Hodgdon site is for a CAS load using Trail Boss powder. I want b use the round in my S&W model 21.
Since the 44 Russian is almost the same size as a 45 acp, I have been thinking of taking the load data for the 45 & reducing the charge to find a starting point for the load. The problem is that I'm uncertain how much to reduce the charge. Currently, I'm using 4.8 grs of 7OO-X under a 200 gr Rainer bullet. If angone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.
