Any one know anything about the Tasco Target & Varmint scopes . I found a 10 - 40 X 50 new for $160 . I was going to put it on a 22-250 , unless they are junk . :confused:

I had a Tasco Mag IV 6X24 scope and I LOVED it.

While they don't stack up against much more expensive scopes, their scopes are generally good for the money, unless you plan to mount it on a .50 or something.

I've got a Varminter on a model 12 Savage in 308.
Never had a problem with it and have killed several deer with it.

Thanks guys . I know it is not going to be a VXIII or anything like that , just as long as it shoots a good group and doesn't fall apart in a mounth .
I found the scope at Opticsales.com . Anyone ever deal with them .

Price too high for tasco, I have 2, they're not worth over $100. With a .22lr it'd not matter, with expensive barrel and ammo why waste them on that scope? My amateur understanding is that if money is a problem buy a fixed power "super-sniper".
