one more question...i have been using sellior and bellot 2 3/4 inch 00 buck shells, but i recently noticed that the barrel is marked for 3 inch shells...

can i use 2 3/4 inch shells??? i only ask, because my remington marine mag has 2 3/4 and 3 inch marked on the barrel...and i know for certain that i can use both lengths...

i am not 100% sure i can use both in the ttn because it is only marked 3 inch...

thank you...

I don't know anything about that model. Is it a reproduction, or is it an actual antique? If its a reproduction, it is probably safe to shoot steel shot out of it. If it is NOT a reproduction, and was made before the 1940's or so, I'd say avoid steel shot as it could damage the barrels.

Edit: If its marked for 3 inch shells, then I'm guessing its a reproduction, as 3" shells are relatively new (since the 1950's or so). This means it is probably safe for you to use steel shot. And yes, if you can shoot 3" shells out of it, you can shoot 2 3/4" shells as well. Just don't try to shoot 3 1/2" shells out of it.

Appears to be a new gun, or it wouldn't have 3" chambers.
I'm also guessing it is choked Cyl & Cyl due to the short barrels?

In that case, steel shouldn't hurt it.
But why would you want too shoot steel in it anyway?

It sure ain't no duck & goose gun!

The marketing information on those guns say "handles all factory smokeless loads up to 3" magnum". I would read that to include non-toxics such as steel. It may not be a goose gun but there are people who would try such a shotgun on upland birds and in many locations on state lands, etc., non-toxic shot is required. I think I wouldn't be concerned. Been giving thought to getting one those myself.

just to let you know gary, it is stout and functional, but it ain't that pretty...

blueing is rather bad, and the wood isn't too pretty...that being said, the wood to metal fit is good, and everything is nice and tight...it breaks open and closes smoothly and fires pretty good to the point of aim to about 25 yards...buck patterned pretty nicely...rough gestimate would be about the size of a plate...slugs shoot to the same place from both barrels...

one thing though, is that it has absolutely horrible crunchy triggers...

stout as hell though...
