I'm sort of new to reloading, mainly reloading shotshell using a MEC 600. Anyhow - I've loaded for my 7mm, .270 and .243 - using RCBS equipment that is my father in laws - but now I want my own.

I'd like some suggestions on what to purchase on my own. I like the MEC for shotshell - really quick compared to the RCBS equipment that I use now. Is there anything similar out there without breaking the bank? I can't afford a progressive reloader, but is there anything out there similar to what I'm using for shotshell reloading?

The Lee turret press is pretty good for the money. This kit has everything you need except the dies:

I agree a Lee Turret Press is probably the best for the money you spend BUT I wouldn't buy that press linked to above. IMO the none Classic turret press is too light especially if you want to load rifle rounds. The Lee Classic Turret Press has a Cast Iron base and the ram is twice as think as the one on the non-Classic model. For the few extra bucks it will cost you it will be a much better press.

I suggest you also:
Upgrade to Lever Prime System for Large & Small Primers for $8.00
Upgrade to PRO AutoDisk Powder Measure for $11.95

Also buy a set of Electronic Calipers, a scale and a bullet puller.

I suggest you do a search on this forum and you will find a few recent threads from new reloaders looking to buy their equipment. The threads were very informative.
