i have a tough one, i bought my 2nd benjamin/sheridan 20 cal blue streak air rifle back in november. my first was when i was a kid. anyway, my eye sight has deteriorated enough that i NEED a scope to shoot almost everything. i bought a set of "intermounts" that benjamin sells for this gun. but they are not designed well. so i bought a B-SQUARE scope mount, which is one peice. the problem with this one is that the 2 mounting screws (both on the same side of the gun) are so close together that if the scope gets bumped at all, it alters the point of impact greatly. the intermounts work loose, even with locktite as the screws that hold it tight to the barrel work against the screws that clamp on the 3/8 dovetail. other than designing my own, or having a brace welded onto the b-square, i am not having much luck. if anyone has had either of these, and found a fix, P L E A S E post a response. it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I had the same problem on my Father-in-Law's pellet gun. I was able to fashion a buffer that fit between the barrel and cantilever of the mount. I made it out of an automotive shock absorber bushing. I also used lock tite, longer screws and small washer on each screw. This gives the screw head more contact area on the mount. It works pretty well if I do say so myself and isn't much of an eye sore. This design mount makes it pretty difficult to set the pellet in the chamber easily but I haven't found any other mount that worked at all. I had picked one up that sandwiched the barrel between the two clamp halves. It worked poorly.

a shock bushing huh? the rubber part or the steel sleeve? like using a peice of tubing? the "sandwich" mount is that wonderful "intermount" that benjamn/sheridan/crossman sells. what a worthless peice of junk.

the rubber part or the steel sleeve? The rubber grommet. Ground it down so that it resembles an "H" for lack of a better description. I used the shock stud hole as the portion that goes over the barrel.

well, this is what i came up with after gearheads suggestion. since i didnt have anything "h shapped laying around, or any shock bushings, i went to our local hardware store and bought some various sized rubber tapered "corks". i tried installing them laying down, but the taper kept allowined them to migrate. so i stood them up and cut 2 of them to length, inserted them under the "B-SQUARE" scope mount, tightened the heck out of the mounting screws with locktite and let it sit for a day. it now seems very solid. its a shame i had to cobble it, but you gotta do what you gotta do to make it work. thanks gearhead for your suggestion. basicly all i did was modify your suggestion to my circumstances.
