Keltec P11 Clip IWB question

Anyone carry with a round in the chamber? I am interested in attaching a belt clip to my P11, and if the consensus is that it is unsafe to carry that way with a round in the chamber, it seems to defeat the purpose. I think it would be safe due to the DA trigger pull, but I am interested in other opinions.

Thanks!

i have no idea why it would be unsafe. bought mine when they first came out # 14xx. put the belt clip on it with 11 rounds. carried it till about 2 years ago when i took to the p239/40. i still carry it for casual use. only problem was that the clip screws would shoot loose after 50 + rounds.

Another thread, actually. Not worth dredging up but some folks said they thought it was dangerous to have it IWB without the trigger protected and loaded.

I carry it with a round in the chamber with the belt clip. I've never felt it was dangerous. The trigger is so heavy I doubt you could make it fire without actually pulling the trigger. Of course your mileage may vary.

I always carry with a round in the chamber.

I liked the belt clip but when shooting it would bang up the top of my trigger finger. I finally had to take it off.

Check the screws periodically, mine kept coming loose.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the advice. Clip seems like a great, easy way to carry it. Will be sure to loctite.

Carry the P-32 that way now and then and wouldn.t have any trouble with a P-11 . Would tale a lot to pull trigger thru you pants and you not notice .

Before I bought my Crossbreed Supertuck I carried my P11 like this, SOB style. I started with the factory belt clip and ended up using a clipdraw as I felt the clipdraw was more secure.

Eventually went to the crossbreed for comfort reasons.

I carry the P11 either in a pocket or a tuckable Mitch Rosen Workman IWB. I have an ankle holster, but rarely use it. But, it's always got one up the spout.

Some seem to think the P11 isn't drop safe because it has no firing pin lock, but that's just so much BS. It MIGHT go off if you dropped it muzzle down off a sky scraper or something.

No problems here, except it sometimes works it's way out of position, so watch that.

Today I noticed the clip was loose. Tried to tighten one of the screws, found out it was STRIPPED. Fortunately I had a spare, but jeez.

BTW just be cautious when 'holstering'. The trigger is heavy but if anything gets snagged on it while doing so...
