J&G sales is listing these California legal pump action AKs (http://www.jgsales.com/product_info.php/rifles-shotguns/ak-47-and-rpk-rifles/p/romanian-ak-47-par-1-pump-action-ak-rifle-/cPath/209_214/products_id/1794) on their website. Supposedly CA legal since it isn't semi-auto, and still accept 30 round mags. At $190 they look like a great alternative to a 7615 if they work. Anyone have experience with one? Looks like an interesting i idea, largely based on price and mag compatibility.

I had one and it was just ok. Sometimes using wolf ammo it was hard to eject the spent case. I would have to hold the pump and bang the butt of the rifle on the ground. Remember you don't have the piston pushing the bolt back so this crap can happen. Also the rear sight is on the cover not up farther where they normally are. It is close to your eye and has a "V" notch that looks like the grand canyon. Mark

First, you can build a CA-legal AR that takes detachable magazines if you want. There are a few alternatives. None of them are $189. Look here: http://www.tenpercentfirearms.com/ But they are autoloaders. So are a few other guns. The 7615 is an intriguing rifle, but not a "must buy" to me. Maybe if it were a tad cheaper...

Second, I've always wanted a PAR-1 or PAR-3 for a plinkertoy. Thanks for the post! This looks like it'd be well worth the (low) price.:)
