Anyone have an American Classic 1911 and if so, how is it?

Just from looking at the picture, it certainly has some high profile sights. That rather protruberant front sight could sit a lot lower if the Novak (or Novak-style) rear was inlet into the slide as it is supposed to be.

The sights on the standard model look to be smaller.
A local dealer lists the standard model at $336 and the deluxe at $379.
The standard model.....

On the target model it "looks" like they didn't mill the rear site flats before dovetailing, it looks like it sits too high. Made in the Philippines? Pretty low price.

That standard model is a different animal. It looks nice, only having what you really need (good sights) . The WWII design of thumb safety is a little curious, but does fit in with the theme of a "no-frills" gun.
