Take the quiz (http://www.politopia.com/index.htm)
I ended up in the Northwest just south of Ayn Rand. Interesting little game.

NW-You would feel most at home in the Northwest region. You advocate a large degree of economic and personal freedom. Your neighbors include folks like Ayn Rand, Jesse Ventura, Milton Friedman, and Drew Carey, and may refer to themselves as "classical liberals," "libertarians," "market liberals," "old whigs," "objectivists," "propertarians," "agorists," or "anarcho-capitalist."

"North-You are a Northerner-a free marketeer-which means that you advocate a diminished role for the government in the economic realm. You are more or less pleased with the government's role in the personal realm."
About right I guess. Although I am always a little suspicious of polls on sites which have some political agenda. Even sites I like.

My only real sticking point is that I think there should be some government interference to keep American jobs from leaving the US.
In theory, that may be anti-libertarian, but it is really hard to give a damn about politics when no one has a job.

Couldn't help it. I was channeling George McGovernment.. :D
I gotta admit, it's kinda funny to see a quiz actually put the Heroic FDR right in there beside the Demonic Hitler and Stalin.. teeeeee... :)

The NW, about 1/4" SW of Drew Carey. I've never seen one episode of his former TV show BTW. I don't do Hollywood, so I don't know what it means to be located at his 10-20. They should have used a political figure instead of a TV boy. Let's see, 200 miles north of Teton Pass is western Montana. Is that in the NW?? :D

All you people are free-marketers then?
How do you feel about US subsidies to US business and farms running to the tune of $150billion a year then? Screwing Brazil over with regard to cotton, and West Africa too.
That is not ''free market'' stuff.

I really have no problem beating other countries. However -- doing so with corporate welfare only makes the USA weaker.

Futo Inu,
here is something I learned.
I use the address of the empty field accross the street where someone lived in another town...10 yrs ago.
I use an alias, with an alias addy on a web based acct I set up from a school computer...it gets mail once every 3 weeks to stay active...in the event the spam doesn't do so...oh a few of us this email alias and addy for the same reason...never from home pc tho. We just set up a new acct from time to time just for this purpose, online polls and such.
I hate to shop , but went with classmate to a chain store where she bought a computer..."we don't sell info" the sales reciept said. I had her use an apt # --she owns a house--sure enough slew of junk mail came to her house with that apt #, she then recieved some resitution. Real easy to prove.
Use a different Apt # for different things /stores if you own a home, rent a house, whatever. Real easy to see whom is sellling info, then check with local statutes. :) I think that company is paranoid about apt #'s now :D Her attorney thought-wow- what a great idea and he now does it. You see the mistake made was a debit /credit card info was traced back to them --a big no no selling this info, bigger no no if false charges are put onto acct later. You just gotta outta think them.
I was NW of Ayn Rand, getting pretty close to "feet wet".

LOL.
I have an account on keepandbeararms.com that I don't have to worry about keeping alive because I get spammed by. . . . . the Devilcratic National Committee.
What's curious is that I've only mentioned the address once, in a small-ish libertarian/anarchist leaning mailing list. Wondering how _they_ (the devilcrats) got it.

Thanks re1973- NOW you tell me.... :( Look, guys and gals - this IS an email harvester scam. I've gotten 3 "enlarge your penis" spams since I did this, and had gotten NO such spams since I changed email addys. Not all of us are as streetwise as those who already always used alias/made-up emails, so I'm once again warning the relative newbs not to do it, or actually, better yet, PLEASE, EVERYONE do this:
Please go there, and enter a completely made up email addy at **.FU or whatever, and also list your 10 friends with similar addys. Thank you for your help. :cuss: :fire:
