A few people have PM'd wondering what I paid for it, so I'll just put it here.
$299 was the price on the tag, it was around $350 after tax, and all the California fees.

Another member of the butterknife brigade. I'm glad I'm not the only one. :p I hate the gutting knife displayed next to a firearm. It looks like something from Halloween. :neener:

Nice Cobra, indeed. I'm wondering if the screw located at the top of the frame (just in front of the hammer) is for mounting a hammer shroud? My stock '66 Cobra doesn't have any provision (screw hole) in said location for installing a hammer shroud (if that's what it's for). Does anybody know if the screw in question is from the factory for a '57 Cobra or if it was added later?

Nice deal! That looks like a fine Cobra in very good shape for being 50 years old!

The screw at the top is for mounting a hammer shroud. It probably had a shroud at one time.

Shot it today. Wow, it's a handful.

Wish I had a first Colt anything, congrats!

To me theres something weird about shotgun shells propping up revolvers, don't know why. I like Sharpies/Highlighters gives a splash of color contrast to the blue/stainless/black firearms.

Congrats on your first Colt.

A word of caution... it probably won't be your last. Next thing you know, you'll have a nickeled version, and then a Detective Special, and then an Agent, and then......

...another Cobra!

Although I was not really using it much, preferring subcompact autoloaders for this "tactical niche," I foolishly sold a 1974 Agent.:banghead: I will have to do penance soon. ;)
