Anyone out there handled or shot the new Gold Label. I know its been on the market at least a year now, and advertised at least two years but I have'nt seen one yet. I'd be interested in how everyone thinks about Ruger's first SxS.

nope not yet, they are suposed to hit the streets this fall. If they ever make it into production I'll wait about a year then pick one up.

They are nowhere to be found and the question remains whether they will EVER hit the shelves just like their ill-fated trap gun and the XGI rifle of years gone by.

There was a prototype Gold Label at the Grand last year and despite a prejudice against most anything with the Ruger rollmark, it wasn't that bad of a gun. It looked unfinished however and cries out for either a blued reciever or a touch of engraving. It was light, not muzzle heavy (unlike the Red Label) and swung reasonably well. Trigger pulls were suprisingly crisp and the fit and finish were acceptable.

But that was a prototype. How they look when and if they ever hit the shelves in your neighborhood is another question.

Meanwhile the wait continues....
