I recently bought a SS Redhawk (7.5" + scope rings) in .45 Colt which was tough to find. I love the .45 Colt! Next I wanted a Super BlackHawk Hunter in .45 Colt. I didn't even know if Ruger had made it until I stumbled onto one. It is the finest looking Ruger revolver I have ever seen. Brand new old stock. Anyone know how rare these are? When they were made? It looks nice next to my Super Single Six Hunter!

They made about 1,000 of them . 300 or so of which were the bisley version. I think they were made in 2005. The 45 bisley hunter was my first handgun and I love it. I"ve bought more handguns since but this is still me favorite.

They made a special run of 45 colt super blackhawk hunters. Don't make them anymore.

Hey jimmyjackjones, YA GOT A GOODUN'!!! These were a special run Ruger made for their distributor, Lipsey's. There were a total of 603 of the standard ones made and 279 of the Bisley models. These are the ONLY .45 Colt Ruger ever made with NON-FRUITED and/or non-rollmarked cylinders. About the best all-around hunting revolver ever made!!! And to quote from John Taffin's Single Actions book, "Ruger's greatest bargain when it comes to a single action hunting handgun is not only accurate, but it handles today's heavy hunting loads."
The one thing you might check, is the size of the cylinder throats. Typically under-size, but easily remidied!

Only 603 made! This was a good find then. Brand new old stock never fired. Here are some pics. I hope to take a buck with it this fall. My Single Six Hunter is like a mini version of it.

EZ45...I love your Bisley. I would have opted for the Bisley myself if I had the choice. I like the hammer. Can I swap my hammer for the bisley version? I think my favorite handgun is still my Colt Combat Commander.

I know the swap can be done but I'm not sure how much fitting is necessary.

There's really not enough difference to warrant a swap of the hammers, but the bisley hammer can be installed if the back of it is ground to be the same as the Super Hammer. You could get a Bisley Grip Frame, Hammer, & Trigger and turn yours into a Bisley in about 15 minutes.

That's sweet!
Passed up one once before I knew they were a limited production item.
Course it was gone when I went back:banghead:
