Am going to Hoodsport to relax for a week and see some relatives. Are there any good shops around there within 20-30 miles where I can browse a bit? Splat.

From where you are, your options are kind of limited.

Heading North up 101, the nearest big town is Port Townsend...and that's about an hour and a half...not sure if there are any big gun stores there anyway...it's kind of a tourist destination.

Heading South, you can get to the town of Shelton...it's about a half hour drive from you...a few guns shops are listed in the Yellow Pages, but none I can vouch for.

One of them is Steve's Munitions, which I can't seem to find a website for, and the other is Spencer Lake Firearms, which I also can't find a website for.

In fact, the only one I can vouch for is Boerner Firearms, in Bremerton. It's located on the corner of routes 3 and 16, which is about 30 miles from you, but due to the winding roads it's probably a 45-50 minute drive. They are a decent sized shop if you want to do some fondling...probably about 35-40 pistols in stock, and 60-70 long guns, as well as a good stock of reloading supplies.

They are not open on Sunday or Monday...
