I see that Texas Tactical has a carbine shoot on the calendar for March 1st. I only went to the one near Henley before they moved, but that was some of the most fun shootin' I've done in a long, long while. Most guys are running poodle shooters and for that type of match, those are nice indeed. I ran an AK and another guy ran a 16in Fal that day. Times be damned, we were the cool kids that day! :neener:

I think I'm going to run a tantal this time, but set up with hungarian furniture (because of the foregrip) and a red dot. I think I'll try a Yugo M92 safety since it has the wider shelf for easier manipulation with the trigger finger. I'll polish the indent if needed too.

I'll probably use my Taurus PT92 since I don't have a proper holster for my CZ.

If you're near Austin/SA and haven't been to one of these, you should really give it a go--it's a ton of fun.

They are fun matches. ARs are usually the gun of the day. In March, Rivercity is thinking about an IDPA qualifier and three side carbine stages, BTW.

I remember a Henley match that had about 62 shooters.
