A friend has just acquired a Winchester 12 ga pump, 18" bbl, extended mag, pistol grip only. The receiver has no external markings except the serial number "L1322xxx". Barrel is marked "Winchester Stainless Police 12 ga" 2 3/4 and 3" shells. Entire gun is either stainless or nickle/chrome plated. Receiver is probably aluminum alloy, it has some very deep pits through the plating. Barrel and mag tube look fine, so does the bolt and inside of the receiver.

What is it? 1200, or 1300, or ???
Where can he get a normal stock to replace the pistol grip only, cheap?
Is Winchester still in business enough to provide a manual?

Probably a Winchester 1200 or 1300 Marine (as in salt water) variant relabeled as a police gun. Take a look at http://www.wildernesscanoe.org/firearms.htm and see if it's similar to the picture there.

If so, there are stocks for it out there- look on eBay, GunBroker etc for winchester shotgun stocks, or search on the web for other options.

IIRC CDNN in Texas was selling some FN Police pumpgun synthetic stocks that would fit a Winchester 1200 or 1300 perfectly (FN is now making the same design under their own name)- give CDNN a call at 800-588-9500 and ask about:

Item Number SPE0661 ($29.99, 13" LOP with synthetic forearm) or

Item Number SPE3 ($19.99, Speedfeed conventional style synthetic stock and forearm).

If you want a pistol grip shoulder stock, they also list a Speedfeed PG synthetic model with tubes that hold an extra 4 rounds in the stock (Item Number SPE1, $49.99).
