Prices for P7's were rock bottom around here when NJ state police switched to S&W on some politicians orders. Well, they hated the smiths and quickly went to .40 caliber glocks because they weren't gonna buy P7's again. In the mean time the PA area was flooded with P7M8's for $700, some even less. Didn't pick one up because i was too young at the time and my dad being the 1911 type looked at the funky contraption and wondered "what's the point?" Dammit.

These sound like P7/PSPs (heel releases) and not P7M8s, which are earlier guns, but that doesn't matter since many people prefer these better anyways. I am questioning the $900 price tag though for a refurb...
Don't bother paying the extra $25 for a handpick though, never heard of a refurb coming in in bad condition.
Bought my refurb for $650, and last group were around $750 for P7M8s.

Off-topic, but I had heard that the NJSP purchased Sig P228s after the abortive attempt to switch to SW99s.

I haven't seen a refurb in a while. The $900 is high, but still the going rate

I thought that my refurb. was German police and it was NOT a PSP. What gives with this new batch? Did they carry both types of mag. releases.

It's not just the mag-releases.
P7/PSPs and P7M8s are completely different pistols. Their parts (like magazines) do not interchange, nor could you swap slides (like I can btw my M8 and M13). I don't believe that you can even use P7M8 aftermarket sights.
The P7 and P7/PSPS were the original design and were slightly smaller, didn't have a loaded chamber indicator, no trigger heat shield and had a heel release. Due to their slightly smaller dimensions, mine does not reliably-fit my Milt Sparks holster I have for my M8 & M13.
They were issued as police guns prior to the P7M8s, so these are probably just another department's retired guns.
Btw, the picture posted on gunbroker is NOT what a P7/PSP will look like, it is a P7M8.

Whoever put those guns on Gunbroker.com shouldn't advertise them as P7M8s, if they are indeed P7 PSPs.

I don't know if I would want to deal with someone who knows so little about what he is selling.

Of course not. Why would they make things easy on us? The seller has ZERO feedback, no guns in stock, doesn't know what he is selling so he can't even promise you anything and is advertising them as something they are not. Sounds like a LOT could go wrong on a deal like that.

The last batch of P7M8 refurbs that came in from the German police had the milled slide. The one I picked up for $700 had the milling of the German police emblem in the wrong place - the emblem was/is still there.
I wouldn't be pouncing on this batch until you know more. Too many unknowns. It could be a deal where money is being collected before the deal is sealed(Glock high caps bring back bad memories).
If this outfit is getting them others will be as well. I'm sure CDNN will probably be getting a batch and offer them at less than $900.

I think $900 is way too much. Maybe $750-800. Shoot, my dealer has a gently used P7M8 for $1000. Last gunshow, I saw two dealers with new ones for $900 (they only had one each). With these kinds of prices, I would just as soon get a new one or used civilian.

That's for sure. My thinking is: When they are actually on-hand, let me know and I'll consider it, otherwise, no sale. I don't necessarily doubt the intentions of the seller, I've just heard of too many problem deals that involved "pre-selling."
