How long should a case neck be before I trim it? I have several hundred once reloaded (Ultramax and Blackhills) LC cases and some are out of spec by about .001 or .002. Should I consider triming them? I'll be loading them for target shooting in an AR. Thanks guys. The info here is really helpful to us newbes.

Your reloading manual should show you the "Max. Case Length", (1.760") as well as the "Case Trim Length" (1.750").

As long as your cases are under Max, you don't need to trim them, unless you are crimping with a conventional seating die. (Not a Lee FCD die)

Using a conventional die to crimp, they need to all be the exact same length, all the time, or you cannot get a uniform crimp on all of them.
