model 625....What am I missing??

I recently purchased a S&W model 625. I enjoy everything about it but I am having one heck of a time removing the spent 45 from the moon clips. I know it's a silly question but what am I doing wrong???

Screw driver or any metal item with similar shape.

While the dedicated and purpose-designed tools work best, I use an extra (old and pitted) 1911 barrel. Run the clipped empty into the chamber and use barrel hood against the "star point" of the clip to cam the empty out.
