I've got this thing for the Czech 45mm case, either necked down to a 6.5mm for a standard rifle round or necked up to a very heavy 9mm like the Russkies have done for silent work, it seems to be rather kewl, the problem is that there's no info on it?

Would any of you guys have pictures, stats, and any other info? Also, feel free to put your own suggestions for the ultimate round, as we never do that sort of thing around here.

The ultimate combat cartridge is .17 Rem.

Because, if small caliber/high velocity is good, then smaller caliber/higher velocity is better, right?

No. Just because someone might adhere to a particular belief doesn't necessarily make it so. That is, of course, if you believe that people have a right to an opinion, I don't, I only believe in gun rights.

If the Czech is the same head diameter as the Russian 7.62x39, then it could be the base for the best compromise possible with our planet's atmospheric physics and gravity.

I would probably neck it all the way down to 6mm and blow out the shoulder as far forward as reasonable--just get a proportionately longer neck than the .223 for the ammo abuse factor.

Why? It 's strategically better to use *less* materials per shot, so a slightly lighter 6mm should give us the right BC, compared to a 6.5mm. I may be convinced otherwise if some demonstrated engine-block destroying advantage could be shown for 6.5mm...

2900 fps might also be a good velocity if all else works out okay. Longer barrell throat life is a good thing made possible by not hot-rodding the round too much.
