Just got this back from Dave Clements today. It is an Old Model .357 Blackhawk converted to .44 Spl.

I am very happy with the grips (massive understatement!). I got them off eBay ($10 + ship), they were advertised as "tea stained ivory micarta" and were dirty, stained, and hugely oversized. I asked Dave to fit them and slim them down. Can you tell why I'm so happy with them?

I didn't know what they were until Dave called last week to tell me the gun was ready to ship. :)

What's not to like; .44 Special, aged ivory micarta grips, great bluing, and that magnificent front sight. Very nice indeed.

Thanks Xavier! I bought them over 18 months ago (how long the conversion took) and I don't remember who I got them from. Plus the transaction is long gone from eBay. I never thought I'd have a set of real ivory grips! :)

This is the first time I've ever heard of anyone getting real Ivory in place of fake Ivory. GOOD FOR YOU!!! Those grips are a perfect match for a beautiful revolver like that one. I wish I had the money to get one made......

Don't forget a range report when you get out to shoot it!!!
