The New S&W 627 4" 8 shot model, has anyone seen one in person?
Does it have the tensioned shroud barrel?, from the picture and description on the S&W site I cant tell, it appears to have a heavy bull barrel with a partial underlug.
Has anyone fired one of these? Lastly how much is the actual selling price? I think I saw it listed at Bud's online for $679, by the time it reaches me though thats about $700-$725. The MSRP on S&W site is $918 IIRC.
Release date is January 2008, but Davidsons doesnt list any for sale yet, only the PC model.
Thanks

So does it have the shroud style lined barrel, or a one piece machined barrel??

Its the same as the 5" model, barrel wise, only shorter. The trigger and hammer on the 4" are case colored like normal S&W's but the 5" has a polished hammer and trigger, with the trigger having rounded sides and being narrower than the 4" model. The 5" comes with a aluminum Performance Center case and a rosewood grip along with the Hogue grip. The 5" has a gold dot front sight where as the 4" has a red ramp front sight. Both are very very nice guns. I have pics of the 4" close up if you want to see them just let me know. Lin

Hi,
If you are talking about the 627 Pro, I have one.
They seem to be nice revolvers.
Not too fancy but everyone that has picked it up has liked it a lot.
I think it would make a nice open carry revolver. It's still a N frame so concealment carry might be a little difficult.
Have a great day!
