Okay, I'm not the biggest fan of the polymer from Austria, but my collection just never feels right w/o one  :banghead: ANyway, I've had a few Glocks over the years & even blew one up a couple years ago. Now, I've got a Glock 36 that just seems to be the ideal Glock.
Had to get that off my conscience :D

I had a Glock 17 shortly after they first came out.
Traded it for a nice Mutton Lettuce and Tomato sandwich.
It was a good trade.
The mutton was nice and lean... and the tomato was nice and ripe.
It was so perky. I loved it.

Does owning sixteen Glocks count?

Ok, I'll admit it. I now own a Glock, but I got a pretty good deal on it. I almost HAD to buy it. I think of the glock like I think of my SKS, its a utility weapon to be used and abused. For what its worth, my 1911 still pulls nightstand duty.

Get the flamethower ready.
I own four Glocks, three 17s and one 23, with roughly 20,000 rounds between the four of them.
Zero malfunctions.
Read the Signature.

Ya'know, everytime I shoot a match someone comes up and asks me what I am shooting. (Glock35) They just walk off shaking thier heads and I keep beating them (1911s) Life is good!

I've got my Glock 22, but it is outnumbered by the 1911 style pistols now...

I wouldn't call myself a "closet" Glock owner, but I've sold off all but one...
Since 1994, I have owned three G23's, two G23C's, two G33's, a G29 and a G30. I was a moderator at GlockTalk for years. I've carried them as my primary CCW for the better part of a decade, but lately they just bore me to tears.
It's not like they're the only reliable pistol on the planet; I've had equally flawless reliability from many other pistols I've owned. The Glock may be extremely tolerant of abuse and neglect, but my CCW guns don't generally suffer from too much of that, and, heck, even a pretty 1911 will stand up to more abuse and neglect than most people would care to dish out to a posession that cost more than their TV.
I like tinkering with my guns and personalizing them, and it's hard to do that with Glocks. Sure, you can stick in a lighter trigger or an extended slide stop, but to me it's not quite the same as speccing every part of a gun out to meet your own tastes.
Like I said, there's nothing at all wrong with them. I still have my G30 and it still runs just fine. If anyone asked me "Should I get a Glock?", my answer would still be "Sure, if you want one; they're fine pistols", but the notion that they are the One True Sword is no more valid than it is for any other type or brand of pistol. There may really be a One True Sword, but the secret is this: it's a different sword for each person.
I've found mine, and I hope everyone else has as much fun finding theirs. :)

I am a closet Glock owner. I have one. I almost never shoot it. I probably take it out once a year. I am pretty sure most of my friends don't know that I own it.
As someone else posted, I don't think a good collection should be without one. That doesn't mean I like it.

Put some money down today on the G36 sittin' amongst his friends on the shelf in the glass case. Sorta like an adoption ya know? Pretty soon, he'll be a part of the family. :)

10-ring you need that black USP45C to complete your USP collection.

I have two Glocks, no 1911's...YET!
I'm going through a "tactical pause" in acquisitions...when they resume, I expect to add a 1911, maybe two to my collection.
BTW, I have no fear of "1911 enforcers"...
I'm kind of like my CZ52, old, ugly, and lethal :D
Safe shooting,

Durable, reliable, accurate, lightweight, consistent trigger, tough finish, relatively inexpensive, variety, all business look (IMO), easy to fix, overall good customer support, overall good QC, lots of aftermarket products, and many people own them so its relatively easy to get help or advice.
These strengths far outweigh some of complaints often heard about Glocks to me. Its not for everyone. But name one handgun that is?
In the closet? Nah, there's lots of us around here.:D
