Hi guys,
This forum was suggested to me by "Zundfolge" over at the Glock Talk forums. Seems like a pretty nice forum so far. I have been looking at a Steyr S40 at a local sporting goods store where I live. I hope I have made the right decision. It trailed me home yesterday for $360.00. It seems that was a pretty good price. I do not know much about them, but it seemed like a pretty nice gun. It is now keeping my G27 company. How did I do?

Thanks, Ron

sounds like you got a good deal. was it new, or used? nib s40's fetch a $500 price, give or take, least theres one on auctionarms for $475. the s series is rather tough to come across.
i've been curious as to the interchangability of the magazines between the m40 and s40. i was under the impression that m40 magazines would work in a s40, but i may be wrong.

Hi spacemanspiff,
The gun is new in the box. It did only come with one mag though. I have also heard that the M40 mag will fit, but can't say that for sure.

Hello ront ... good to see you made it over here.

click here (http://www.thehighroad.org/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=277366&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) to do a search of these forums for Steyr S40 ... you'll find lots of great info there.

If you want more magazines, there are a couple on Gunbroker right now.

Also, CDNN has Steyr M & S Mags here (http://www.cdnninvestments.com/steyr2.html)

Congrats on the good deal :D

i'm disgusted that someone on auctionarms is selling the LEO mags for the steyr m series for $59, when cdnn has them for $15.
although its doubtful that many LEO have a steyr (i think i've seen only one sold by a LEO), thats a seriously jacked up price.
