New guy with a dumb question.

I got a new Redding die set, and in the instructions the recommend that you clean them before you use them. I did that, but I wish I had done each die one at a time. I took both of them apart without studying them and I'm unsure which is the sizing die and which is the seating die. In other words which base gets the de-primer and which gets the bullet seater. Is there a way to tell?
Thanks.

You didn't tell us what caliber, bottleneck, straight wall, full length, or whatever. Many Redding seating dies are marked ST on the body, but not all of them. Also, many Redding sizing dies have a bevel or champfer at the opening, where many of their seating dies are square, but not always.
Do you have a loaded factory round? They often slip all the way into an unassembled seating die, but not an unassembled sizing die. But that isn't always true either.

Ants,
Thanks for your help, I took a discharged round and it sliped all the way into the bullet seating die but not the sizing die. The sizing die was marked "FL" and the seating die was marked "ST" just like you said.
Thanks for the tip!
