? I'm confused. Are you looking to buy a target rifle and use it for hunting, as opposed to buying both a target rifle and a hunting rifle? The only problem I see with this is that most dedicated "target rifles" I've seen are fairly delicate and designed for slow fire.

Generally speaking, a target rifle will be almost as heavy as the rules for whatever sort of competition it was designed for will allow. This isn't desirable in a hunting rifles used for many sorts of hunting.
