What can you do if your CHL application is rejected?

I just turned in my application for CHL for the state of Kansas on friday. So in a month or two i will know if my app went through. I do not see any reason why my application would not be approved, I have a clean record (except for speeding tickets, which were all amended) and have never really had any trouble with the law. None the less I was wondering what my options would be if i was for some reason rejected. Could I reapply and send letters of recommendation or something? I know i could get quite a few good letters to stand for my character. anyway, has anyone encountered this or know someone who was rejected and why? what did they do? did they ever get their CHL?

Is Kansas "shall issue" or is it up to the Sheriff?

Kansas is a "shall issue" state.

In Texas, there are avenues for appeal for suspension, revocation or denial. Don't know about Kansas but it's achedemic since your application will not be denied. The worst you can expect might be a delay because somebody doesn't like the fingerprints or something small got left off the application.

Why are you worrying about this now if you think you have a clean record, or is this statement actually a lot more ominous than you are telling us...
never really had any trouble with the law
Often when there is a qualifier like this, the person has had problems that either they don't feel should count, don't think are on their record, or otherwise hope is hidden.

I got pulled over while moving once and told them I had a rifle from home burried in there. They gave me an illegal transport ticket because I couldnt point to it and say it is right there. Got a lawyer paid paid fees and was done. I still got mine after I had a judge expunge it from my record. Some tickets really are dumb and unworthy of mention. The city/county just needs the $$$.
