In Canada we're limited to 10 rounds magazines. But Out of curiousity I was looking at one, and I can't figure out how it's done. I think they're supposed to hold 16, but I don't see any obstructions in the magazine. However you simply cannot insert more than 10 rounds.

As far as I know the XD9 Subcompacts (3"barrel) come with 10rd mags. But a normal 16rd mag will also work in them, and a grip extension is available to cover the extra length of the mag. Of course with the 16rd mag and grip extension, it has the same size grip as the other XD9s.
