Anyone still use post sight scopes? I believe that they are also called German post sights.

I have a 2X Leupold EER that I'm itching to mount on my M1A instead of my red dot system, just for a changeup.

If it was good enough for Uncle Sam and his 1903A4 sniper... Really delightful to shoot, wherever the chisel tip of that upright post sits is where the hole appears:

The post, Ajack or #4 reticles as they're sometimes referred to are still in use. The europeans still favor them.

I love them for hunting and for fast target acquisition. I have a Meiji 6x with the 4A reticle (post with thin crosshair) that I'm very fond of. Also, my military snipers have them so I'm accustomed to using them.

I've got one or two. Like them, but not crazy about them.

If you consider the British MK32 telescope, then yes, I use one of those.

BTW, I have a M81 (Lyman Alaskan) and mine has the crosshairs.

I had Leupold put a German #4 in my M8 4X that sits on top of my custom Mauser in 7 X 57. I deer hunt the northwoods of Wisconsin where it stands out real good against the hardwoods.

In optic sights, I have an original Armalite scope on my Costa Mesa AR180, and a Trilux sight on my FN L1A1. Both use inverted posts, making holdovers easy.
But I use post sights on most of my rifles - steel posts that were issued with the rifles by the various armies that used them.

Sure; I've got an ELCAN on one of my ARs- it uses a post reticle.
