What's the favorite case trimmer out there in reloading country?

When I started reloading many, many years ago, I bought a Wilson trimmer complete with primer pocket reamer (I was loading a lot of GI .30-06 brass at the time).

That Wilson was really good, but the cutter handle knob didn't swivel. It was just a round piece of brass welded to the cutter.

Recently I've been using some Lee trimmers. I've found them to be very accurate, but a bit slow, even with a power drill attachment.

So I've gone back to the Wilson, and if possible, it's gotten better than ever. I trimmed 100 Hornet cases in just a few minutes last night.

The Wilson isn't all that expensive, either. If you've got a vise handy, it's a real breeze to use.

Just my .02 worth.

I just ordered a Lyman. I'll let you know next week how I like it.

Give Sinclair's a call - you can either order a cutter with a knob that swivels, or an adapter that will let you hook up an electric screwdriver to the cutter.

The Wilson is the MOST ACCURATE and SQUARE case trimmer out there.

Bogie: Just got my new Wilson from Sinclair's. And, yes, the handle swivels.

I have had a Forster for a few years and didn't care for it much, but, got a great deal on it. Picked up a Wilson and its the cat's meow. Just no comparison to the Forster.

And the really sad thing is that the Wilson is actually less expensive than a lot of the other trimmers. Normally, it's buy the best, and cry once... In this case, it's buy the best, and save cash.

I love my Gracey....

However it seems to have recently been outdone by Doug Giraud.

You could not go wrong with either.

I got started in the Lee Length Gauge trimmers, they're cheap and easy. I've not had any problems.

For those who have to go cheap, these can't be beat.

I found that the Lee trimmers can be fast when chucked in a drill, but I also had severe trim length variances when I used them.
I currently use a Lyman bench based trimmer. The steel base makes for less variance in trim length. It has a full set of convenient pilots.
