Anyone know where to get a good deal on one in S.E. Michigan. I want one that has fire protection and is 10 ga. or better for the body. Was hoping to find some kind of scratch and dent sale.

I'd look for a 'scratch-and-dent' safe that doesnt have sawz-all or torch marks. :uhoh: :neener:

If its got sawz-all and torch marks but has never been gotten into I would pay extra for it!

Look in your want ads for store equipment. You may be able to find a large safe cheap.

Haul out your Yellow Pages and look up "Safes" Most retail outlets for safes have used or scatch and dent specials.

Check the UL rating for fire. AVERAGE heat range and time is NOT a good measurement of its value. Look for the HIGHEST temperature level and for HOW LONG at that highest range is the safe stable. The higher the temperature and the longer time AT THAT high temp, the better. Have them explain how the locking mechanism works as well and get their opinion on which system is best.

Get one big enough that takes at least 3 or more people or two people and a motorized hydraulic dolly to move.
