this is NO HOAX... I found this track in my back yard today, and I am concerned due to the size, depth etc.
I live in a relatively rural area in Broken Arrow, OK I am not a hunter but this paw print is seriously large and I am concerned for the pets and small children in my area
CAN YOU HELP?

thanx for the assist
yes I have a DEAF 14 yr old Dalmatian whose eyes are not good - cataracts >> starting to fail... I take her outside for all potty trips
I came across those tracks yesterday in the afternoon, ...they WERE not there yesterday morning
We already have a pack of coyotes that migrate through our area each night we hear them come from wherever they "reside" and then on the return trip about 3 hrs later
SO now I am thinking I need to be carrying when I take my dog out?

If my old eyes aren't failing me there appear to be claws on these tracks which would indicate that this is one big CANINE.

I don't know of any canine that it wouldn't stop if place properly.

there's no gap between pad and point, which would indicate canine, it is all continous imprint no gap etc

this all explains the strange animal "scream" I've heard a couple times at nite when I have been up to use the bathroom or whatever

Dog or a big coyote. Too small for a wolf and not a bear at all, for whatever that's worth.

Imagine finding tracks bigger than a size 13 Danner boot. That's what it's like up here lol

Though certainly not the source of your track, foxes make an awful crying growling noise as they roam around at night.

A BIG dog . . . carry what you're carrying, but DO carry it. My dogs are family . . .

Sure appears to be canine. Cougars can leave claw marks, but typicaly do not. Pad woud be the give away. Dogs have "D" shape (hump toward the toes), cats have "C" shape (open side toward the toes). Stay alert when walking a pet. Cougars know they are easy prey, and big dogs, not under owners control, can be an issue anytime, any where. Carry pepper spray (bear spray in cougar country like BB, OK). That way you don't have to kill someones beloved 'escaped' pet, or watch your dog be torn apart or killed while you watch. If nothing else carry a stout walking stick. Cougars are shocky so a blow to the head, neck, back, legs etc, usually will send one in search of easyier pickings.

I was thinking Great Dane....or maybe Velociraptor, but there's too many toes for a Velociraptor. :D
