Put a folding stock on my 9mm camp carbine Same here. Hopefully somebody reputable will start making some 20 round 9mm mags for it also.

Start stocking up on hi-cap magazines, even for the guns I don't own but would like to get when I can afford them.

Spend $1k on C-mags, put bayonet lugs & flash suppressors on some rifles and wait for retirement so I can play with them. :(

Don't get me wrong, I WANT the ban to go away. I've spent a fortune on preban junk though. Now if that ban expires the value of my stuff will go into the toilet. :( I will be able to buy twice as much though...:D

I think one of the guns more affected by the sunset will be the AR10/SR25/.308 AR group. I for one would be much more interested if I could find 20 round mags without spending a ton and ripping up an M1A mag.

The main thing that's been holding me back from my 4x10/22 gatling is the lack of availability of 50+ round mags.
I'd also get a double-stack .45.

I'll relieve myself of a loud, lingering "Yahooooooo!" but since I'm not a rifleman, I won't rush out to buy any black rifles.
I think we're going to win this one.

pitch my mini 14 into the desert an buy an AR!
my opinion though.......the price of the rifles will stay the same (new ones) now they will just be able to give us the options we want on them. i will go buy some hi caps for my pistols an stock up on 10 roundr trainer mags.
after calling Ruger they have no plans to ever make the 20 round mag for the mini 14 again. and i have surplus AR 30 round mags. so that solves that question.
how much depreciation are people thinking a Pre-ban rifle will lose?
100s$ 20-30 bucks?

I will investigate the vote record for any/all recently tried AWB renewal legislation, and call and write out paper and ink letters expressing my thanks and support for those who voted properly.
It happened once.
It happened because most gunnies don't vote and are not politically active.
Perhaps the '94 AWB can be the kick in the arse needed to get people paying attention.

Well, revolvers and pump shotguns and bolt actions and lever actions and those sorts of firearms would be low on my list.
I would wait for the initial rush to be over so that I would know that those who go back to making over 10 round mags are producing a quality product.
If I bought anything taking a detachable magazine I would stock up on magazines until it hurt and then buy some more.
There are a lot of handguns and rifles I would like to have and some are very nice for a purchase price. The problem is mags are known to wear out, the mags just cost too much, or the mags are darn near impossable to get ahold of.
Overall I have to say that any company that does not go back to producing factory mags of over 10 rounds would be on my "do not consider" list. This is not for the smallish guns that have become popular since the ban, but if glock did not offer factory 17 round mags for the glock 17 I would have to say glock lost all future business. Someone above mentioned ruger and I don't really care who does it because that is far worse than many things some gun manufacturers have tried to do.
The one thing I hate about this is some states have their own laws that will prevent people from getting happy mags in their states. There is also some confusion on my part as to imports of anything.
As for folding stocks and other items, I would buy them to just sit around in case something else comes along in the future.
Who needs a 401k, these stupid laws had to let many folks retire if they were in the right place at the right time with a lot of money.

Stimulating the economy!
Id like to pick up a ar in pre-ban. It also like to get an AK.
Also an M1S90 with pistol grip and 8shot mag ext. That wouldnt be half bad.

Stock up on 30 rounders for my 10/22 Ditto. Plus I want a 100 round .22 drum for my MG. (American made Uzis are licensed for .22 conversion as well as 9mm.) Full auto rimfire would be a whole lot more fun and cheaper than 9mm.

Smile b/c i know that we've defeated the anti-gunners in their goal of disarming us.

I'll certainly be in the market for more quality hi-cap magazines.
However, I've never been enamoured with the bayonet lugs that many here seem to like on their black guns. I guess if it gets to the point where the victor between two opponents is decided by who has a knife attached to the end of their gun, rather than bullets remaining in that gun...then the fight's over anyway. Some of you with more direct military connections than I may know, but does anyone know of the most recent use of a bayonet?
Erik Jensen
August 6, 2003, 10:07 AM
I believe that bayonet use, by the police or military, is mostly psychological at this point. in that vein, I'm picking up a Norinco trench gun for home defence. nothing really says GO AWAY like a shotgun with a 16" bayonet. heck, you probably don't even have to load it!
on topic, lots and lots more standard cap beretta mags. I'd say I would buy an AR, but I'm building one right now, in case the ban is replaced by something worse, which I think is likely.
Skunkabilly
August 6, 2003, 11:55 AM
Move to AZ, TN or TX and buy an AR15 and 33 30-rounders and get a total of 33 15-rounders for my Beretta. That way I have enough mags for 1000 rounds of .223 and 500 rounds of 9mm :D
OK maybe two AR15s. And Trijicon ACOGs for all. And the Benelli M4. Just because.

"Some of you with more direct military connections than I may know, but does anyone know of the most recent use of a bayonet?"
This question was asked on another thread or another board I was reading within the last week. From the pictures posted, bayonets are being used extensively in Iraq right now for everything from house clearing to herding prisioners to manning roadbloacks. Combat still involves the same two humans that it did 100 years ago. We may no longer do bayonet charges but that doesn't mean that piece of equipment is any less useful to a soldier.

back on the bayonet subject for just a sec....a buddy of mine just got back from iraq and a he said that there were two separate bayonettings while he was over there. one resulted in a dead iraqi, the other iraqi was seriously wounded. so, yeah, we still use bayonets.

All you guys who insist that the ban will be renewed:
Quit being so negative, guys! Being negative can be an excuse to do nothing, and besides it's no fun. Being negative is the easy way. If you're right, you say "See? I told you so". If you're wrong, nobody really says anything. Now this does not mean to be complacent, or to count your chickens before they're hatched. But a positive attitude is necessary if we're going to win this war.
As for what I will do, I will go on a buying spree. I will take detailed pictures of the most evil, nasty, wicked looking weapons and stack upon stack of loaded full capacity magazines send them to VPC to torment..
