I just bought a 44 mag smith and wesson
Model 29-3 with a 7.5 barrel
I can not find any info on this gun, all I can find are up to 6 inch barrel or longer
this gun is about 90 to 95 % condition
it has been fired very little, said it was to loud for him
does anyone know what it is worth

A S&W 29 in "7 1/2" barrel???
Or is it the 29 with the 8 3/8" barrel, or the 6 1/2" barrel??
I didn't know they made the 29-3 with a 7 1/2" barrel. (???)

Post this in the revolver forum, you will get more responses. I think there was some factory 7 1/2in barrel model 29's.

Would love to see a photo if in fact this is a 7.5 inch barrel, I'm sure others would as well. Thanks

Barrel lengths are measured from the front of the cylinder to the front of the muzzle. This is the full length of the barrel, not just the "unsupported" barrel length emerging from the frame.
On a Model 29, or any N frame, this distance is 1 7/8". If you didn't account for that, an 8 3/8" barrel would be reported as 7 1/2".
It wouldn't really be possible to guess at a price without seeing pictures and if the original grips are there and in what condition. A range would be $400 to $550 for an original gun with wood grips and in very good or better condition.

$200 dollars,sounds good. I paid $200 and a Chinese Tokarev for one in 1996.

Yes, $200 is very good. So good in fact, you should be pistol-whipped for stealing it! ;)
