hey fellas, i have a sig p220st, and was thinking of getting a new aftermarket barrel. the stock barrel is 4.4", but i was thinking of getting a 5-5.5" barrel, and prefferably ported. what are my option? i know of barsto, and their stuff cost about 250 without porting. any other options? where is a good place to get them? as a side question, do they make metal guide rods for the p220st?

Your 220ST came with a plastic guide rod?
From what I've read over at sigforum.com, you can call SIGARMS, and tell them you were upset your pistol came with a plastic rod, and they will send you the metal one. There are two kinds of metal rods...a solid and a hollow version. Either is fine. Keep the plastic as a spare.

As for the barrel, Barsto makes a wonderful barrel, but the wait can be a little long. There's a post in the www.sigforum.com 'gallery' section of a member's pistol with a 5.5" barrel, which is not a barsto. I believe some type of Federal barrel.

I have had some really good luck w/ Barsto barrels. I'd go to the sig forum & find out from their fans where to go for an aftermarket barrel.
