They are a very durable gun. I bet a P95 could get atleast 50K before it needed a rebuild. Probably more.

I used to frequent an indoor range that rented pistols. They told me the P95 was their most reliable autoloader.

You'll wear out your wallet before you wear out the gun.

I have a NM Super Blackhawk and a Redhawk, both 44 Mag guns. They both have probably 15,000 + rounds a piece through each of them. My MkII 22 bull barrel...I can't count 'em.

They are both still accurate, especially the SBHK. The Redhawk broke the mainspring guide rod hook and the SBHK broke a transfer bar. I replaced each and got one extra of each.

My Security Six...probable well over 20K through that one.

whoa. Those of you with over 30,000, what kind of maintenance have you had to perform?

100k wouldn't be unusual. Probably some small parts breakage (like springs).

I don't know how many rounds are through my P95. I used to shoot it quite a bit as I go shooting almost every week. It has become my girlfriend's favorite pistol and she puts 250-300 rounds through it every time we go. No problems so far.

I have about 5K through my KP-90. Only thing changed since it came out of the box is the recoil spring.

Also have about 8K through my MKII .22LR pistol. Exactly as it left the factory.

If you can afford to put 30K+ rounds through it, then you should probable be able to afford a new gun and not having to worry about rebuilt.

I think you are a member of the rugerforum aswell?
There is a guy named "COFFEEPOT" on the ruger forum. He was an engineer at the Prescott plant (Rugers semi-auto plant in AZ). They did many torture tests on the various Ruger models. The P95 has been through several 25,000 round tests.

They even use to get range rental guns back to fix broken parts and springs. Many of them had unknown round counts but the range people estimated they were in the 80,000 - 100,000 rounds area.

Seriously well built guns at a good price. They do not carry the panache of the Sigs, Berettas, and Glocks. And they are not as accurate as the CZ-75 at 25 yrds. But they are plenty reliable, rugged and accurate enough for any semi-auto need.
Good guns. If anyone says otherwise they do not know much about good guns.

That P95 will last you a very long time.
Some say change out the recoil spring every 5000.

I only have a Ruger .22, well over 10K through it, with only an extractor, plunger & spring replaced.:)

Unless you are putting, say, a case of ammo through it per day, I wouldn't worry about wearing the thing out!!

Of course, there are things that are designed to wear out, like springs. But that should be minor and I have not had to replace said in all the time I've had my P95, which is from circa 1997!!!

yes I am a member of the Ruger forum.I have a 10/22 and a M77 7 x 57 rifle,a GP100 357 a single six 22 and I just bought my P95.So I guess I own a few Ruger guns 5 of the 12 guns I own are Ruger they are all built very well.My 10/22 has only jamed a few times but it gets hot with my 50 round mags.My GP100 is built like a tank so is my single six,my rifle needed a little work to shoot good at 100 yards but now great and my new P95 feels large but when shooting,it feels great and shoots great I like it more than my friends Cz but the Cz does shoot a little better.

Keep it clean and lubed and you are not going to wear it out. Ruger over engineers everything.

My ruger MKIII has about 7000 rounds through it and I have only had it for almost two years.

It was finicky with the ammo the first 2500 rounds or so (would not extract) I put in a volquartsen extractor and put another 5000 rounds through it without a problem.

The rifle and pistol club at purdue probably has 100k through some of our older rugers. Not as much as th 250k through our 41's but getting up there.

Yeah, probably 60k - 100k depending on how old it is. People don't use it as much as the 41's, either, so its not getting the same constant use.

Our Mk II is currently out of commission, sort of - waiting on a new extractor. That's the only thing that's gone wrong with it in the five years that I've been in the club. Its been seriously mistreated, too. Previous club officers weren't as diligent about cleaning the pistols as I am. Think a year or two of heavy use with no cleaning.

Right now,I've got just 50 rounds through my P89. I dunno how many the previous owner shot, but it couldn't have been many-it looked like a new gun when I got it a few weeks ago. I've heard of them going 10K+ rounds and never having an issue.
