For the record my CCW is normally either a Colt Gunsite Pistol, Government. OR my Browning High Power customized by Novak. My BUG is S&W 642 or 638. This year I am shooting the Steel Challenge with my Glock 34. Bowling Pins with either of my two Kimber Warriors, rotate shooting 22cal Pins with either The Ruger MKII 5" bull or MKIII 22/45 5" Bull, or the Kimber conversion kit on the Warriors.

And shoot IDPA with either my Series one Kimber Gold Combat Stainless, or the FN High Power.

SIG's are my favorites, but because of health reasons I don't shoot them anymore. My CCW there was the 228 and 225. Competition was the West German 226 and the 220 Canadian. Pins used to go with the standard 220 in 45.

All my 1911's are 5" barrels.

What else do you want to know about my handguns?

And GARYP, you are a salt on me by a year at PI. Which battalion The Reich, Disney World, or 2nd? I did a short tour as a Hat in Hollywood in 71.

This list is LACKING seriously. Until you get Glock up there you cannot cliam you have listed the most popular auto loaders. And to some extent it is also true about CZ Colt and Springfield. Thus these should be part of this poll to make it interesting.

I prefer Ruger revolvers, but I don't have a favorite autoloader brand.

I like Sigs, HKs, Glocks, Berettas, Springfield XDs, and CZs. Haven't tried and S&Ws autoloaders, but I'm sure that I'd like them just fine. Ruger SR9s are very sweet shooters, but I don't plan on getting one for a while.

If I had to choose one brand for autoloaders, I would probably go with Springfield XD models. They are reasonably priced, reliable, durable and accurate. The second brand that I would choose would be glock.
