My wife brought this story to my attention:

http://media.www.hillsdalecollegian.com/media/storage/paper1270/news/2008/02/21/News/Colleges.72Acre.Shooting.Range.Opens.This.Fall.Student.Weapon.Storage.Locker.In-3225746.shtml

Hillsdale is a truly great American institution.

It's nice to see an institution of higher learning show such tangible support for the 2nd amendment.

thats really cool that the VP seems excited about it. I wonder how many letters their school newspaper got about the mass killings that will naturally follow from having a gun range.

Hillsdale is a truly great American institution.

I second that!

read up on them and you'll find that they integrated the campus decades before most American colleges.....only to be smeared as racists in recent times for not capitulating to the Feds. dictating their school policies.

Long live any institution that rejects federal money in order to maintain their principles. No PC anti-biggots pulling their strings.

My nephew went to Alma over Hillsdale because they offered him quite a scholarship package......big mistake! He dropped out two years later, with his head filled with liberal mush. They mixed him up so badly, it's a cryin' shame. Now he's in the tattoo, body piercing self mutilation crowd, shacked up and struggling to go back to community college.

That is excellent. Way better than having to pay $40 a year for membership at the local range that is hardly ever open.

Honestly, I remember my freshman year there was a flyer in the dorm lobby for a group buy of .223, as soon as I saw that I knew I had picked the right school.

My father graduated from there cum laude in 57 or so. Great school. I get their little circular Imprimis.

No, I'm not an alum. But from what I know of the school, it's got it's head screwed on straight. I also get Imprimis, their newsletter. Solid thinking. Not P.C. If I was eighteen again, I'd go.

I get Imprimis and highly recommend it to everyone. Great school. Wish I'd gone there.

For anyone not familiar with this, the subscription to Imprimis is free. You can subscribe and read this month's issue, as well as archived issues at http://www.hillsdale.edu/news/imprimis.asp

Another piece of good news. A middle school near where I live started an archery program. They have had more students interested in it then they can handle. They are considering competitions next year. That is great.

People forget about bows but shooting them is as fun as guns. Cheaper also.

It may be bows that is a step forward.
