It's time for a new CD!!!

I was flipping through the channels tonight, and of course, nothing is on, but I passed by Comedy Central.
John Stewart (I think that's his name) is interviewing the lead singer of Blues Traveller. Stewart asks him where he lives, and the singer tells him that he used to live in NJ, but moved to PA because of fewer gun restrictions.
He said that he had 32 acres and had built his own gun range. He described himself as a "gun nut."
So, if I buy his CD, do you think he would let me come over and practice my marksmanship on his range? It's worth a shot (no pun intended)!

Great band - Popper can play the chromatic harp like noones business. I like their old stuff.
That's cool that he said all that in the media. He and Nugent should jam.

I believe that is the correct name, Mal.

I have had the album Four, by Blues Traveler for a few years. I was listening to Look Around last night.

If you support artists who support guns i suggest you listen to some rap music.. :)
I wish i could afford acres so i could shoot when i want too..
Ps-the rap music thing was a joke :)

I wonder if Popper posts on any gun boards incognito...
Hey, John, if you're out there send me a PM. I've been listening since Save His Soul. ;)
Doesn't he wear a vest a lot? Hmmm...this would explain it perhaps.

Popper has now earned a spot on my very short "Respected Celebrities" list!

When Blues Traveler played a gig outside of Anchorage a few years ago, Popper actually wore two Sigs on stage (no, I don't know what caliber!).
Some local music reporter asked him about it, assuming they were props. Popper told her they were real guns and and that they were loaded. He had worn them simply because he could do so in Alaska!
By the way, I don't think Dean Speir would mind me mentioning that his son is a member of the band - not a musician, but management or something. Dean is a gun writer that pops onto the board here occasionally and he has some stories about Popper and guns that are worth hearing.

Politics aside I could like them more if the average 'traveller fan didn't also try to trade me a half eaten peanut butter sandwich and a hit of bongwater for a ticket to the next Phish happening.
Some advice: stay out of Boulder, and watch what line you are standing in.
Popper is a gun guy, that's cool.

IIRC, he was arrested for having a sword cane.

Yeah, saw that interview too. Liked Popper's comments, especially how he brought up the subject of guns, gun ownership, RTKBA and places he avoids like NJ and HI because they are anti states.
I think that he wanted to make these comments out of the blue, because Jon Stewart appeared uncomfortable talking about guns, though Popper just kept on talking about how he liked guns and shootin'.

IIRC He was arrested in the PRNJ for having his pistol loaded with ultradeadly Hollow Points or something along those lines. It's been a few years since this happened.
All in all he seems like a pretty decent guy, and his band rocks, I've seen them a couple of times.

Have you seen him lately? He's NOT the big guy he used to be. He's lost a lot of weight.

Yes, he did appear to have lost a LOT of weight. I guess walking to and from the shooting bench to replace targets helps.
