Is there something better than Brennekes to use in a rifled bore that I can actually get?

Are the Winchester 385 partitons deeper pentrators?

I know about the IAC/IFS slug but haven't found anyplace to get them.

What are you wanting to penetrate?

With a rifled slug barrel you want to get a consistent pattern, if your brenekes are giving you an acceptable pattern, then stick with those.

I deer hunt with a slug shotgun, and unless I hit the shoulder blade my brenneke slugs go right through the deer. My experiences is that deer slugs have no problem penetrating deeply at close ranges. 12 gauge slugs are used for brown bear defense up North so they have to be good for that.

My question to you, how do you like your 11-87? I'm thinking about buying the 11-87 sportsman deer for a new deer shotgun.

Brenneke

They have versions that can be used in either rifled or smoothbore. Deep penetrators. Don't change perfection :).

I gotta think most any of the high velocity copper solid type slugs ought to work. I've shot maybe a dozen deer with them and never failed to have a pass thru no matter what angle.

I'll second the dixie slugs I have a box of their 20 ga slugs (the slugs them self for reloading)I have been working with the 20 ga are 500 grs. they are full bore size and solid and cast hard like a pistol bullet then heat treated I am getting 1 1/4" three shot groups with iron sights at 50 yards they look like an artilliry shell hitting the bank at the club plus James Gates Is a stand up guy to deal with
