What would one be worth with a 26" IMP CYL, VR bbl. in 99% condition. There is one for sale locally for $325. It is nice looking, but I honestly don't know what these typically fetch.

Seems like a fair price. Or maybe a little better than fair - what's a walnut stocked Model 1100 go for these days?
It's a Model 1100 with a genuine hardwood stock and middle of the road metal finish. Think of it as a Model 1100 Express. They made a Sportsman 12 pump that evolved into the 870 Express.
My duck hunting buddy badly mistreated a Sportsman 12 Auto for way more than a decade until he finally cracked the stock on it. He claims he didn't step on it in the bottom of the boat, but I don't believe him. One day I had to hose the mud and feathers out of the action in the marina parking lot and the gun kept right on running with a squirt of outboard motor oil. Nobody had any gun oil that day.
I don't think I've ever seen one with an IC choke. That would add a couple of dollars in my mind.

Wish I could find one for that price. Buy it, get a coupla of spare o-rings, and shoot it. Could do worse for a hunting/skeet gun.

Remington has made a couple autos they named Sportsman.
The first was a Model 11 variant. It held only 3 shells but otherwise was very similar to the 11. These look like A-5s.
The next was based on the 1100.
Either in VG condition are well worth $325.

Upon further review, the Sportsman 12 Auto had polished blue metal, not the rough Express-type finish.
I was just thinking of the badly worn finish on my friend's gun in later years.

I've been looking at 1100's for a while now, lots of them out there in the low to mid 90's percentage wise. Starting around $400. $325 for practically the same gun in 99% condition sounds like a "smokin" deal. Buy It.

Thanks for all the replies. Dave, yes there are the 2 different models, the model 11 variant, and the 1100 variant. The one I was inquiring about was the 1100 variant. I am going to go back down to the shop today and see what kind of deal they can make OTD on the gun.

Not to be too picky, but didn't the Model 11 version say "The Sportsman"? The 1100 under discussion is marked "Sportsman 12 Auto"
