I just got one of the Aimsurplus TNN 1897 Winchester replica shotguns.

It appears to be working fine except for one thing. Is the gun supposed to be able to racked (pumped) after I chamber a round and its cocked and locked but I don't shoot it?

When I pump it and chamber a round, I can then immediately pump it again (withOUT holding the button on the side down) and eject the still loaded round and chamber the next round.

Is that normal behavior?

I took the gun apart after testing it at the range and cleaned and lubed it up and checked the action slide lock and related parts and everything looks normal.

So is my gun acting normal and I'm just being weird or is there something wrong with it that needs to be fixed?

Also when racking the pump and chambering the next round, once in a while, the round won't be picked up properly and jams when going into the chamber (its like its being pushed into the chamber by the ejector which catches on the middle of the round instead of the edge). Is this something I can clean up or is it my technique?

It is not normal for the gun to be doing that. If the gun is cocked, with the hammer back, you should have to push the button on the side of the receiver to open the action.

So how should I start to troubleshoot this and fix it?

I can return it but aim has no more 97s so I just want to hang onto it and fix it up myself.
