when they first came out, i dropped nearly $800 for it out the door(CA residence), and i felt bad because i knew i overpaid for it. now, about 1-2 years later, the best price i can find out the door is just under $670-$680...

anyone know where to get one for cheaper than the prices i found?

The price range you quoted, 670 to 680, isn't bad. They run 682 without night sights, 730 with around my area. Some shops still charge 800 plus around here too.

good to know. are there any differences in prices between the first run 220st or the newer rail model p220st?

As far as I know prices for the old and new rails are the same. But the old rail models are hard to find now anyways so I don't know if it makes that much of a difference. The old rail models are from surplus SIG P220 Sport models and some argue the quality is better. Its debatable as I haven't compared them side to side but my old rail P220ST is so superb I like to believe it. ;)

But if you got your P220ST for $800 out the door (tax, DROS, etc.) that's still a pretty good price. Go to www.sportingarms.com and they have the P220ST on sale for $649 which is a superb price on the best .45 auto out of the box. Talk to Tom he's a good guy.

And great choice on the P220ST. I'm getting another one as soon as I can. That's how much I love this gun.

BTW, me and you think the same. i was contemplating an aftermarket finish for my p220st, but decided to just buy another p220st.
