Black powder noob here. What does it mean to "make your own black"?

Manufacture black powder at home rather than buying it.

There was 2 or 3 threads not too long ago about this. There's at least a few here ( including myself ) who make all their own BP. It's fairly easy once setup, roughly $4-7 a pound depending on how you buy the chems. And it can out perform standard commercial GOEX easily because it's hotter and much cleaner.
