I was wondering how severly accuracy is killed by pulled bullets that have been resized, I know at least it'd be OK for blasting stuff but not .00002" micro hole groups. Yes? Also, Would it be worthwhile getting like 2000 for $250(about MOA) or get about 1200 high quality sierra 69gr's for about the same cost (1/2" groups)? (I am shooting an ar-15 w/ 1/8 twist)

Thanks.

I bought 4400 @ $5/pound. Resized them myself. As good as Wolf 55gr. and Adcom m855 as far as accruacy goes but I didn't work up a load. I just sit them on top of 25 grains of TAC, mixed brass, and CCI41's or 400's.

Most FMJ military bullets are not MOA to begin with, and pulling them & resizing them isn't going to improve them any! (Loose jackets)

If you want cheap blasting ammo, go for it.

If you want MOA accuracy, better get something else.

Not when you can get NEW for less -

If the link doesn't work - copy and paste it.

If you want accuracy using a 1/8 twist I’d go with 77gr Sierra Match Kings.

it's been my experience with the pulled, polished and sized grade 1 and 2 that they'll get between 2" to 4" in groups at 100 yards depending on rifle and load,

that's just about the same as I've gotten with the new never loaded surplus 62 and 55gr FMJ bullets.

the hornaday 55gr FMJ is different, it will generaly do moa or slightly over depending on rifle/load.

with the grade 3 pulled 55gr FMJ that I've bought and then sized myself with a lee lead bullet sizer, I've gotten about 4" groups on avg, some better and some worse, but for the price I couldn't pass them up.

Interesting.. Honestly as it stands right now, my 62gr pulled and resized load w/ 23.5gr H335 in a 20" RRA upper w/ 1/8" twist does about MOA.. Was just wondering about new bullets if it'd make a difference or stick with the 69'ers.. I supose it depends on what I'm willing to accept.

I have a Varmint 20" RRA upper w/ 1/8" twist that will shoot groups between 1 - 2 inches at 330 yards using 77gr moly SMK’s.

you can get them for much cheaper than 250/2k. I get 2in accuracy out of my cmmg upper with them. you will get much better accuracy with the smk's. you can also try hornady 69gr mhp which are still cheaper than smk's. RG
