My wife is getting rather good at informal indoor range plinking with .38 and 9mm. She thinks she needs some formal training, and perhaps some competitive experiences.
Can anyone recommend trainers & competition activities in Minnesota, preferably south-west Metro?
Thanx

Bullseye shooting (.22 and central fire) at Burnsville pistol range (winter)
Oakdale gunclub (summer)
USPSA at Burnsville pistol range (winter) and
Faribault Rifle & Pistol Club (MN 55021) (summer) or Oakdale.
Also there are events at Bills gun and range.
There are different programs for women at Oakdale.
Also you can check Burnsville for training they have several programs as well/

Check with DonL on mnguntalk.com. I have taken some classes from him and highly recommend him. He aslo does a holster class that is great. Im sure he will schedule one as it gets warmer. Lot's of other events scheduled over there as well.
Check into IDPA as well. TwincitiesIDPA.com
Good Luck

If you are looking for general defensive use of a handgun, and you want range work all in one course then you can not find a better place then http://www.slr15.com/ Greg Sullivan will be at the MWCA show at the MN Fairgrounds this weekend. He has a great knack for teaching all skill levels. He is class, Handgun 1, is a class where you do a great deal of shooting and holster work from the get go. You probably will fire in excess of 300-350 round of ammo and get plenty of repetitions drawing from a holster.
