CZ SxS Quality?

I have done some searches on CZ shotguns. Most of the problems I have read about have been related to the over/under guns. I would like to hear from actual users of their SxS guns. Are their quality issues? Are they good guns for the money? If you suggest another brand/country, I would appreciate an actual link to a dealer/price. I have looked at the Italian and Spanish SxS, and I am only finding them at 3 to 4 times the price. I appreciate your help and insight.
Thanks,
- Sig

I've been hoping to see some more feedback also. I don't know enough to help you. When the Turkish shotguns began coming to the USA a dozen years ago or so, I heard some good things about them and still do. I had an Uzumlu (looked at lot like early Huglu). Huglu makes the guns for CZ and I've heard pretty good things about them over the years. One the negative side, I've read that some Turkish guns are not so good and in recent years they have spent a lot of effort in making them look pretty but not so much in other areas. I have heard that Turkish guns are not proofed to the standards we expect, but I would have doubts that that is true for guns made for American companies to import. I know I have had my eye on one of the SxS with double triggers, the Bobwhite in 12 ga. with 26 inch barrels and English stock. They seem on the high end of the low-priced guns; considerably more than the Stoegers or the Spartans, but much less than say a Ruger, or Beretta side-by-side and certainly less than the high quality imports. The Uzumlu I had (Tri-Star) worked just great but lack good balance and looks. It utilized leaf springs rather than coil, had a greener cross-bolt. It seemed plenty strong and accounted for its fair share of birds. I hope you get some good feedback because I really would like one myself if it appears to be a good buy. Certainly CZ-USA is a reputable firm.

I just got a CZ Ringneck 28ga. It was used but in great condition. I put 200 rds. thru it last week and I love it. It fits great and shoots very well. There was some problems with earlier guns breaking the firing pins but I think this was fixed. CZ has great customer service anyways. I would not hesitate to buy one. In fact I plan to pick up a 16 ga. Ringneck soon. For the money they are awesome shotguns. Opinions on SxS will vary of course. Some people think that a SxS has to cost over $3000 to be good, but I disagree.

I bought my dad one for his birthday last year in .28 Ga and it shoots like a dream, its light and comes up on a bird quick. I have considered buying myself one in .20 GA

if you don't mind a good ol fashioned hammer gun with 20 inch open choke barrells, then i would recommend the ttn 1878 colt repro model distributed by cimarron...

the cimarron site lists them for $450, but you can generally find them on gunbroker.com for right around $400 even...
they are great guns for the money...built extra heavy(8lbs) to soak up recoil, 3" chambers, patterns very tight with buckshot and hits poa with slugs...
wood is decent, and bluing isn't that great, but the build quality of this gun is excellent...very robust, yet smooth...only bad thing is that they have very heavy trigger pulls...extremely heavy...
better than norincos, spartans, stoegers in my opinion...
great guns for the money...

I have 2 CZ's.
One's a ringneck in 28 and the other a bobwhite in .410. When I first bought them, the ringneck had some problems with doubling on the skeet range, but CZ fixed it, no questions, in a reasonably short amount of time. I regularly shoot skeet with this gun, so I don't really know how many rounds its had in the past couple of years. I know I've gone through at least four flats of factory ammo, and an unknown number of reloads.
I've never had any problems with the 410 at all, but I have only run about 300 rounds through it since I bought it.
My only regret is that I had a chance to pick up a 20 guage at the same time I bought these two, and didn't do it.

What is this gun going to be used for? If for clays, I would recommend you steer away from a Huglu. The Turkish quality control just isn't there yet. The volume of shooting for a clay shooter is just too high.

S&W had contracted with the huglu for the new production SW shotguns. They started 07. I don't think quality management is a issue. Huglu sells in Europe almost same price or higher than Italian and Spanish made shotguns. I always had a good experience with the Huglu OU or SxS
