I normally keep about 2,000 rounds of 9mm, .308 and .223 on hand at all times, all in original packaging. How many out there keep their ammo in bandoleers on stripper clips, and if so, how much?

I have about 1000 rounds in stripper clips for my Yugo 59 SKS,7.62x39.
I use this as my truck gun, so always have a goodly supply on hand.

I usually keep mine loose in 30 cal cans. Any larger and they would be too heavy to be practical.

For long term storage I silicone the rubber gasket, displace the oxygen with dry ice. Try not to touch the rounds with your bare hands.

The main ones I keep on hand are .308, .223, 9mm, and .45

I do keep a few loaded in mags. I am trying to do the leap frog method of buying a case, shooting half, buy a case, shoot half you get the idea.

I wont disclose how much I stash, more than some here but trying to catch up with the others.

30 cal cans with a desicant pack thrown in due to weight/portability factor. All magazine fed rifle ammo is stored on stripper clips. Half a dozen mags at the ready. If I need the gun up and running that bad, I won't have time to stuff mags full one round at a time.

Ammo gets stored in ammo cans.

Unless you have a very small supply, you are kidding yourself if you think you have a better solution for storing ammo than the one the military has settled on after decades of studying the issue in every possible environment.

Mine is stored in both .50 Caliber ammo cans and a plastic tool cart with wheels.

Much of my .30/06 is in enbloc clips in ammo cans, just the way it came from the CMP.

Some in strippers in bandoliers.
Some in the box in 50 & 30 cal ammo cans.
Some loose in ammo cans.

Had to start using 30 cal can cause the 50's are to Heavy.
